Engage with SDMA

Welcome and thank you for your interest in inviting the Department of Student Development and Multicultural Affairs (SDMA) to engage with your group. SDMA will process each request and get back to you in 2-3 business days. Business days are Monday through Friday. SDMA strives to foster the success and community building of historically underrepresented student populations through mentorship, multicultural education, academic support and celebration of our unique shared experiences. These engagement opportunities serve as introduction sessions to our many programs and offerings and/or department-participation at your upcoming event. Events that take place after 6 pm CST, Monday through Fridays, and/or on weekends are only available virtually. If requesting during those times, please finish the request and SDMA will review your submission and try our best to accommodate. Please be sure to complete the entire request. (Estimated: 5-8 minutes)

This request is NOT A CONFIRMATION.
(submissions will be processed based on availability)

Engagement Opportunities
SDMA offers three different ways our office can engage with your group.

Information Sessions
(20-30 mins)
SDMA 101 is an overview of programs, initiatives, and services offered by SDMA. Groups may request a complete overview or select specific programs, initiatives, and services of their choosing. Information sessions require 1-2 business days' advance notice. More information on our programs, initiatives and services can be found here
Mini-Workshops
(~90 mins)
Mini-workshops cover SDMA’s programs, initiatives, and services (see SDMA 101) while exploring intersectional identities through a lens of power, privilege, and oppression. Mini-workshops require 3-5 business days' advance notice.
Informal Engagements
(<2 hours)
The SDMA team is prepared to engage in various ways. Informal engagements will be offered in 30-minute intervals but not exceed 120 minutes. If requesting this type of engagement, please be sure to include the request of pamphlets and materials if needed (subject to availability). Please allow for 2 business days' advance notice. Informal engagements may include but are not limited to tabling, orientation, admissions fairs.
By signing my name and selecting "I agree", I understand that I am requesting SDMA to engage with my organization/department/class through information or informal sessions and/or a mini workshop and not a Social Justice Workshop or other programming available.
